The FOUNDATION FOR GROWTH nurtures a favourable environment for developing innovative ideas, creates competitive jobs and a knowledge-based society, and drives the growth of the national economy.
We see education as a lifelong process, encompassing several important dimensions and particularly focusing on promoting financial literacy among different groups in society.
The foundation assists in developing of closer cooperation within the educational community, and supports equal, high-quality access to education throughout Latvia and the creation of solutions assisting this goal (including for the promotion of STEM subjects in the education system).

The Foundation’s founder
The “FOUNDATION FOR GROWTH” is founded by AS “Swedbank”.
“Changes in the education sector in Latvia are possible only if all parties involved are clearly aware of the goals and jointly agree on a road map to achieve them. Therefore, continuing Swedbank’s long-term contribution to strengthening the Latvian knowledge society, we want to make a lasting and significant contribution to the implementation of good changes in the field of education,” says Lauris Mencis, Chairman of the Board of Swedbank Latvija and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the “FOUNDATION FOR GROWTH”.
